We have invested in the most advanced scissor sharpening technology that is now used in the manufacturing process of all high end scissors so we can be confident of offering a first class service. Over the years we have developed our own unique 10 step sharpening procedure which ensures an “as new” standard when complete.
This applies to both convex & bevelled edge scissors, although some may be beyond help we will certainly do our best for you!
When our 10 step procedure is completed your scissors will be given a new lease of life.
Scissor Advice
Tips for keeping scissors working better for longer:
Adjust Tension-
Too tight leads to scissors going blunt too quickly.
Too loose leads to not cutting correctly & folding hair.
Test by holding scissor upright, open, then let them drop shut. there should be a small gap between the tips, to adjust simply tighten or loosen center pivot screw.
Clean & Oil Regularly
We recommend using Isopropyl Alcohol as it will dissinfect as well as clean, then place a drop of good quality scissor oil between blades at the pivot point, work the oil in by opening & shutting the scissors several times.
Polish the Edge
Sometimes a burr developes on the cutting edge of the blade making the scissor feel blunt, just place a chamois in the palm of your hand & wipe the back of the blade away from the cutting edge.
Dropped Sciisors
Common damage to scissors after they have been dropped is around the tip & nicks in the center of the blade. If you are unlucky & the damage is severe WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND you put the scissors aside & CONTACT YOUR SHARPENER as continual use of a badly damaged scissor may render it unrepairable.

Protect Lead
A common issue is replacing leads on clippers because of constant twisting of the cable, this inevetably causes damage to the internal wiring & will cause intermitant electrical supply. The expense can be avoided by installing a secure clipper holder & untangling the lead after every use.
Clipper Blades
After every use clean teeth of blade using an old tooth brush, gentle wipe away hair from between the teeth & at the end of the day place a drop of quality clipper oil between cutting edges then run clipper for a few seconds.
